About Me

This is American Health Care Wonkery, a newsletter about health care, welfare, and insurance.

I created this blog because I’ve been doing a lot of reading specific to health policy, but I realized it’s not exactly easy to navigate everything there is to know. So, I’m going to try and share what I know as simply as I can. I hope you’ll appreciate what I have to share. Think about it like a free “American Health Care 101” class or an open forum.

A bit about me. I’m a health policy analyst by trade. I have a Master’s in Public Policy from the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at UVA. I’m a consultant that evaluates bundled payment models for Medicare and any other contracts I get assigned to by my employer.

Before I decided to be a wonk, I worked on political campaigns and did some work with medical societies. I always enjoyed learning as much as I could about policy and politics, but I figure this could be a good way to share and continue to learn with you all.

The extra good news there is I’ll be sharing this on Twitter, so hopefully these will get spread a bit further while having a central hub for the future.
